I wrote these songs for my wedding day.
The wedding party walked into “Processional” and is based on the tune ‘Never Be’ from my album Tortilla Factory. “Mikkele” is the song my wife walked down the aisle to. It is based on the letters of her name, announcing her arrival. The second part of it is based on the melody of the song Pixels which I sang to her before I proposed. We walked out to “Recessional” which is based on an ostinato built using four notes derived from our last name. We did our first dance to “Safe and Sound” which is a cover of the Capital Cities song that I recorded for my wife a few years ago. I wrote Pixels to propose to my wife during a hot air ballon ride.
